If you’re wondering where to go this weekend, then you should definitely read this article. This time, I decided to leave the bustling city of Batumi and head to the beautiful mountains of Adjara. What I love about Batumi is that just half an hour away from the city, beautiful natural landscapes start to unfold, replacing the noise of the roads with the singing of birds, and the hot air transforms into clean, cool mountain air.
This weekend, I want to visit the beautiful mountainous place called Gomarduli.
What is Gomarduli?
Gomarduli is a village located in Upper Adjara, Georgia, and it’s a true paradise for nature lovers. Surrounded by dense forests and mountains, the village offers breathtaking views and numerous hiking trails. With its untouched natural beauty, Gomarduli and its surroundings are a place worth visiting for those seeking a peaceful retreat in the heart of the mountains.
How to get to Gomarduli?
There are several ways to reach Gomarduli:
- Minibusses (Marshrutka) from Batumi or nearby cities;
- By car (either your own or rented).
By minibus:
- Batumi to Gomarduli: Departures from the bus station at 10:30 AM and 3:20 PM. Get off at the final stop, and then walk about 500 meters uphill to reach the resort.
- Batumi to Shuakhevi: Departures from the bus station every hour. Get off at the center of Shuakhevi, and from there, taxi drivers can take you directly to the resort for 50 laris.
By car:
❗ Important note: Do not rely on Google Maps, Yandex Maps, Maps.Me, or any other navigation app to provide a direct route from Batumi to Gomarduli. The maps don’t include the roads, and you won’t be able to cover the last 10 kilometers to the village, even with an off-road vehicle. It’s important to remember that the overall road is always paved.
The initial route on the map may suggest otherwise, but I recommend not taking that road.
It’s best to drive to the city of Shuakhevi, go all the way through it, and then head in the direction of Skhepi while following the signs.
At the intersection with the sign for Horeketi, continue straight (keep to the left). After that, just keep going straight, and the road will lead you directly to Gomarduli Dao Space.

Based on recommendations from friends, we decided to stay at Gomarduli Dao Space. It’s a unique place in Gomarduli that offers a variety of opportunities for relaxation, rejuvenation, and connection with nature. This space combines hotel services, a café, and beautiful surroundings in one place.

Gomarduli Dao Space offers various spaces for gatherings and events:
- Yoga Shala: Covering an area of 200 square meters, with a wooden floor, large windows, two bathrooms, blackout curtains, a digital piano, sound system, and a fireplace.
- Dance Space: Covering an area of 300 square meters, with professional dance linoleum, access to a bathroom, forest view, ventilation fans, sound system, and drinking water.
- Tea Room: Covering an area of 20 square meters, with a carpeted floor, access to a bathroom, drinking water, tea service, sound system, and a massage area.
- Lecture Hall: Covering an area of 60 square meters, with a wooden/carpeted floor, a bathroom, panoramic windows, a projector, sound system, and a kitchenette.

- Double Room: With an area of 15 square meters, it features a double bed, large windows, a bathroom, a balcony, Wi-Fi, a table and chairs, bedding, a hairdryer, and an orthopedic mattress.
- Twin Room: With an area of 15 square meters, it features two single beds, large windows, a bathroom, a balcony, Wi-Fi, a table and chairs, bedding, a hairdryer, and orthopedic mattresses.
- Quadruple Room: With an area of 18 square meters, it features bunk beds, individual lamps, large windows, a bathroom, a balcony, Wi-Fi, bedding, a hairdryer, and orthopedic mattresses.
- Entire House: With an area of 60 square meters, it features four bunk beds, individual lamps, large windows, a bathroom, Wi-Fi, a fireplace, bedding, a hairdryer, and orthopedic mattresses.
Please note that there is an additional charge of 60 lari for late check-in after 15:00 or after 19:00. Therefore, refer back to the beginning of the article and plan your route in advance to arrive on time.
